DRC : Gécamines boss Kaputo Kalubi stymied by political interference

The Gécamines chairman Alphonse Kaputo Kalubi, who was appointed to the role by Félix Tshisekedi a year ago on 7 December 2021, is under pressure. The state-owned company, which ever since the country’s independence has been tasked with the development of mining in Katanga, is facing a managerial, financial and industrial crisis.
